Why Farm To People

The current food supply chain is costly, inefficient, and wasteful. By the time we get our produce, 1500 miles and 12 days after it’s been picked, it has lost 50% of its nutrition and been sprayed with pesticides and/or injected with chemical additives. 67% of Americans don’t trust the safety of the food they eat, and our health is the trade-off in Big Ag’s harmful farming practices which focus on fast profit, not sustainability.

Farm to People’s mission is to make great food conveniently available to everyone in NYC. We provide an easy alternative or compliment to other channels like farm stands, CSAs and farmers markets. Here, you have access to high quality food and the ability to enjoy deliveries on your schedule, with no upfront fees, or large time commitments. Eating sustainably should be a no brainer!

Having an intimate relationship with our neighbors is key to our mission. Our Bushwick warehouse serves not only as the home of our delivery service operations, but also as a place to gather, learn, and celebrate the philosophy, “Know your food.” We hold events to educate and celebrate our amazing community! Give Back

We utilize consumer demand trends and farmer supply data to place our orders and help our farm partners crop plan. Because of this, we manage to keep our food waste under 1%! Since it’s not 0%, we partner with community organizations in our area to give leftover food to those in need. We also offer the ability to donate online to organizations fighting food insecurity.
